The puffy jacket stayed home today.  Probably could've gone without a jacket all day but the wind was present.  Chicago you have treated us well this winter.   I know we haven't heard the last from you 30 degree weather but the seasonal end is in sight and I am looking forward to it.  Patios come to life again, seems like the population in the city doubles, a happier vibe fills the air, and that feeling of wanting to stay bundled up at home begins to fade. The taste of Spring is in the air and that just made my day!

It's Tuesday and I have officially had my 5th turkey meal!  My husband and I ate at my sister's house for Thanksgiving and were in charge of bringing the acorn squash, mashed potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, and lobster dip.  Let me tell you it was a first time for making all of those but we got it done and to my surprise there were few lumps in the mashed potatoes, and the second trip to the grocery store to pick up what I thought was acorn squash, turned out to be butternut squash. came out pretty good.  Doesn't sour cream and butter always do the trick!  My sister cooked a delicious feast and we will continue to consume the leftover calories until there is no more left to count.
